FEMININE STRENGTH: PERSONAL VIEWS

Disclaimer:

This is what I shared with my friends in one of our virtual ladies gathering, expressing my views on what I think feminine strength is. It is entirely a personal opinion and as usual, I have a room for growth and it is always open for suggestions.

Strength is the word often used to describe the ability to execute a task with power, and/or zero laziness. We often hear people telling others to be strong especially when they have lost a loved one. It is like they are telling them to get themselves back together soon and move on. The faster you move on, the stronger you appear no matter how many sacrifices you could be giving. You will also hear some people saying that they draw strength from within.

We humans are driven by two energies; feminine (the moon) and masculine (the sun) When they are balanced, a person is powerful and productive but when they are not, one suffers from imbalance. In this man’s world, we are more likely to use our masculine side. The masculine is aggressive, independent, wild, and assertive. It suppresses emotions, like; it uses the mind and not the heart most of the time. The feminine is warm, nurturing, caring and welcoming. It is not funny that you can see a masculine woman and a feminine man! Those energies have no gender, but I think a man ought to tap into masculine and a woman is expected to tap into feminine. Well, that is according to me.

Now, what is feminine strength? So much as the masculine strength is outward, the feminine is inward. Feelings and emotions are two aspects of feminine strengths, although they are linked to softness. What a woman receives and feels, she reflects, just like the moon reflects the light from the sun. As a woman, you should take care of your feelings and emotions by blocking/not welcoming any form of toxicity and sabotaging thought. Protecting yourself emotionally (plus having emotional intelligence) is what will protect you as a woman.

Proverbs 31:25 says “she is clothed in strength and honor, and she shall rejoice in the days to come” (depends on which version you are reading)

Besides physical strength, a woman’s strength lies in her feelings and emotions. When she is aware of it, she cannot be afraid of future. She was born with it, just the way she was born with eggs that will be fertilized to give babies. What is needed is to tap into it. Do not suppress your emotions, do not be afraid to say what you feel, do not conform to “feelings are illogical”. Cry when you are happy or sad. Smile. Express what you feel even when it could be perceived as exaggeration. Pray and take care of yourself mentally. That is the feminine strength; the strength within.
